About BiyteLüm
Sensitive Data. High Stakes. Real Experience.
BiyteLüm sits at an unusual intersection: privacy and AI compliance consulting, and expert witness services for immigration cases. To understand why these two service lines exist under one roof, you need to understand what connects them.
The Name
BiyteLüm takes its name from two ideas. Byte — the fundamental unit of information. And lüm — from loom, the ancient tool that takes individual threads and weaves them into something whole.
We chose it because that's what we do. Whether we're helping an organization understand how its data moves across borders, or helping an attorney understand how a federal adjudicator evaluated their client's testimony — we take complex, technical information and make it legible, structured, and useful.
The threads are always there. We help you see the pattern.
The Through-Line
Our founder spent over six years as a federal adjudications officer at US Citizenship and Immigration Services — processing asylum applications, humanitarian parole cases, and refugee petitions. Every case involved some of the most sensitive personal data that exists: persecution histories, medical records, family separation details, biometric information, criminal background data.
That data, if mishandled, could expose individuals to deportation, persecution, or worse. This was not abstract compliance. This was life and death data governance under strict federal regulatory frameworks — including 8 U.S.C. 1367, the Privacy Act of 1974, and DHS Privacy Impact Assessment requirements.
That experience created something no certification program can replicate: a deep, practical understanding of what it means to handle sensitive human data under high-stakes conditions with serious regulatory accountability. The same precision that governed asylum adjudications now drives BiyteLüm's approach to privacy compliance and AI governance.
Today, BiyteLüm serves two audiences. Organizations navigating cross-border data privacy and AI governance obligations — particularly those operating between the US, EU, and Latin America — benefit from our CIPP/E, CIPM, and AI Agent Security credentials and our registered US and EU entities. Immigration attorneys handling asylum and humanitarian cases benefit from direct insider knowledge of USCIS adjudication standards that no academic or policy expert can offer.
